About the Rockwall High School Library
Our Collection
Our library houses over 26,000 books and audio-visual materials, including DVDs and play-a-ways (books on mp3s). The Rockwall High School Library subscribes to over 20 periodicals and has access to the Gale databases, eight history databases from ABC-CLIO, Soundzabound for royalty free, copyright free audio for student and staff projects and many more databases. Come by and see all the books, databases, and more the RHS Library has to offer!
Check-Out Procedures
Our policy allows students to check out 4 books at a time. Students may borrow books for 3 weeks. Books may be renewed by the student on or before the due date. During class projects, more books may be needed and adjustments will be made at the teachers request.
Overdue Materials
Since our library is computerized, over-dues are processed each morning. A student with an overdue book cannot check out another book until the overdue item is turned in. The students receive overdue library notices through their English teacher. E-mails are also sent to parents/guardians once a week. Students are required to pay for lost or damaged materials.
Library Hours
The RHS Library is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm when school is in session.
Every Tuesday afternoon the library will be open until 4:30 pm.
Magazines
Over 20 magazines are available in the library for check out. Magazines can be check out for up to one week. Titles include: Bon Appetit, Discover, Fitness, ESPN, Ebony, National Geographic, Newsweek, Reader’s Digest, Popular Science, Time, Wired, and Smithsonian.
